About the Presenter

Simone Collins embraced the Rockschool syllabus early into its introduction in Australia, and finds most of her students enthusiastically select Rockschool when given a choice of options! Younger students beg to start preparing for exams when they hear what their older siblings are playing.

As a child, Simone studied a combination of AMEB (classical) piano and Yamaha electronic organ, which gave her a strong foundation for teaching Rockschool. She has taken students through Rockschool Contemporary Piano and Keys exams from Debut to Grade 5 level (so far), and mentored her daughter through Rockschool Grade 8 Drums to complete the WA AMEB Gold Award in 2023.

Simone also prepares students for AMEB Piano and Piano for Leisure exams, and AGMS Electronic Organ Exams. In March 2024, Simone received the AGMS Top Teacher Award for WA, for the student with the highest score at the highest level in a 2023 exam (Associate Diploma level).
